Cannes: originally posted on 11th of May

I have arrived.

Big crowd.

Moderate jet lag.

It's sunny and warm, gonna unpack my dresses.

More latter :*

Strong ambience - note: old posts are back. Oiginally posted on 12th of May

I'm having lunch.

Food is divine! (yes, I'll be posting more food pics. Yes...)
By now I need an ID to get into my hotel. Apparently lot of high profile guests. And with them come paps with their low slung hard core gear. Paps kinda freak me out. BF will arrive on Friday and I'm sure there will be people trying to snap pics. Whenever I see a camera I just switch to I-don't-know-that-man mode. I realize that's stupid, but it's unintentional, visceral.
Last night we were heading to the opening night afterparty and a man with a camera stepped out of the dark. I jumped back and almost fell over. Doorman caught me, took one look at me and said to the man: elle a peur. And he was right...

Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris was a lovely Parisian fairytale. I felt that. But I still like Manhattan better.
Julia Leigh's Sleeping Beauty creeped me out and not wholly for good reasons. Lot of nudity. And some good advice: match your lipstick to the color of your labia. But it kinda left me with the feeling that it wasn't going anywhere.
Before the screening somebody shouted: Raoul! in the Debussy. That is a part of a lovely old tradition. Apparently once upon a time this guy was saving a seat for his buddy Raoul and as the screening was about to start and seats where scarce he was despairingly yelling for his friend to hurry up. So this tradition is kept alive and it is a constant source of puzzlement for newcomers.
Got a job offer yesterday. But, you know, this is Cannes. Here movies get announced not made... Place is totally Gaga by night ;)

Bon appétit, mes amis!
